Description
The Gond tribe believed in building a close bond with the natural world, which is why all their paintings are in a storytelling format elucidating the interconnectedness between humans and nature.
Another noteworthy facet of the Gond art are the vivid color schemes that make the art such a delight to stare at. The dots and dashes are meticulously drawn speaking volumes of their obsession with precision.
Inspired by the ideologies and the storytelling concepts of the Gond artists we have created our contemporary tables with an antique touch purely to infuse spaces with some nature-inspired components.
The art on top of the table has been done along with the shape of the wood, depicting a sense of movement that inspires fluidity. An art form that in the earlier times used to be done along the contours of the roofs of the houses, the floors and walls has been done by us on a carved piece of wood, as a homage to the rich history of the tribe. For the branches and the peacocks, we first carved out the woo along with its grains. The leaves have entirely been hand-painted. The art has been preserved in epoxy resin, buffed for a glossy sheen and the topmost layer has been coated with oil for protection against dents and scratches.
IMPORTANT – This table is one of its kind and cannot be recreated. We here at Aadhya make hand-painted resin tables in India and share an authenticity certificate with our products to ensure originality.
